Unexpected holiday floral trends, an easy Dec project

For the longest time I felt limited by a palette of only red and green for my holiday decor.

While I love it (and have it throughout my home) I yearned for different colors.

Through many, many years of trial and error, I discovered a way of holiday decorating that I love!

One of my biggest holiday design secrets that I can share with you is to embrace the color palettes that you love.

I often take color inspiration from the colors in my home decor and design my holiday decor palette around it! I’ll be sharing more with you on this Friday’s event.

But as I was working on my holiday decor scheme together I thought, “What can I do with my floral centerpieces? Can I use this same trick?”

Well check out these gorgeous, unexpected winter floral centerpiece designs.

Rather than bring in dark browns and oranges to kick off Thanksgiving, we went softer with this blush and pale orange palette.

We added a bit of rose gold to bring the holiday sparkle as you can see here.

When it was all done it still felt like the holidays but without the traditional red and gold. And I was able to transition this with the addition of a few matching Christmas ornaments!

And check out this stunning style. In another unexpected winter floral combination, I was delightfully surprised to see this beautiful color combination that I put together, bring in the wintery spirit.

The deep greens and purple tones instantly felt cool, rich and decadent.

We paired these rich purple tones with crates and silver and creamware serving trays to create a gorgeous holiday serving station.

So what do you think about these unusual holiday inspired florals?

Are you more confident to start filling your home with holiday florals that aren’t the traditional red and green? If you’re at all afraid to do something different, a floral centerpiece is a great place to start!
