How to Pull off a Pinterest-Worthy Art Wall

You pinned some serious drool-worthy art wall on your Pinterest boards…

And you can’t help but admire the art walls you see on Houzz and Apartment Therapy…

Yet when you look up at your own wall, you see mismatched, dated and bright gold frames.

You’re not sure how to pull off the designer look – without spending a fortune or botching the project.

But what if I told you that creating an art wall is easier than it looks?

What if I had PROOF that you could create a Pinterest-worthy art wall in a matter of a few hours?

Would you believe me?

How to Pull off a Pinterest-Worthy Art Wall from Amitha Verma on Vimeo.

After taking a red-eye from California, I had to pull off a designer art wall “under the gun” for my appearance on CBS’ The Great Day Houston show.

Here’s how I pulled it off:

If you’re like most people, you have frames that are old and dated. But you don’t want to buy new frames to create the project. You don’t have to!

Simply mix in 3 Amitha Verma Chalk Finish Paint colors per wall and nobody will ever guess that old, outdated frames are hiding beneath it all. This premium paint quickly and easily coats any surface with no prep work involved.

Here are two of my favorite combos:

Bright & Beautiful

-Chantilly White

-Provence Blue

-Champagne Yellow

Subtle & Sophisticated

-French Gray

-Belgian Blue

-Noir Black

For my TV project, I tried a new combination that included: Azure Green, Provence Blue, Belgian Blue & Noir Black.

Now that you have painted your frames, you can start adding in the artwork you want to showcase, including:

  • -Antique and vintage engravings
  • -Black & white architectural drawings and maps to add intrigue to your art wall
  • -Antique & Vintage letters
  • -Family portraits & candid shots to integrate your story
  • -Inspirational quotes you love
  • -Children’s artwork for a unique and heartfelt touch to your wall

I get all of my artwork at Village Antiques, the #1 store in Houston for antiques, furniture and décor.

Here are some of the pieces we have in right now that would be perfect for your art wall project (and they are all crazy affordable!):

Wherever artwork doesn’t seem to fit, you can simply get a mat cut to fit in the frame and around your artwork.
