My secret hardware store hack for hosting, holidays, projects and more

I’ve got a cabinet full of these.

They’re my go-to for:

  • Picnics
  • Home improvement projects
  • Organizing
  • Painting
  • Holiday decorating
  • And hosting

Yes, I use this one crazy hack for all of the above!

I’ve shared my trick with you over the years but you may have missed this super easy DIY hack because it’s always hidden under my tablescapes and decorating projects.

My love for this amazing fix-all started many years ago. I discovered it at a point of desperation, often when and where many good ideas come from!

I was hosting a Sunday Brunch and often when I host, I cook everything from scratch (crazy, I know). So I had not budgeted enough time to cook and create a lovely tablescape.

I couldn’t find a runner in time for my very long 12’ long dining table. Short on time, I started looking around at what I had.

While I was in my garage, of all places, I found the perfect solution!

Ever since then, my love for this hack has just grown and expanded into other areas of my home.

When I organized my pantry, I laid these painter’s drop cloth out on my counter to cover my project area.

I do this anytime we start a project, whether it’s cleaning, organizing, school projects, even picnics, it’s the first thing I grab and lay down.

During the holiday season, I love bunching these around my trees to look and feel like old heavy, thick Belgian lined with deep folds and gatherings.

One year, while hosting we had to add to our very long 12’ dining table to host everyone, and I used two dropcloths to cover both tables to make it seem like one.

This crazy hack that I came up out of desperation is the gift that keeps on giving!

Another year, my sweet boys and I decided to paint one and came up with this project.

Now, this is one of our most popular workshops at Village Antiques!

Truly, you will love and use this over and over – go order one now!

My suggestion for most people are:

6 x 9

Or if you have a long table like mine

Xxx

So what do you think? These light and easy projects are just we need to keep on going and making some progress in our homes/
