It’s what you’ve been waiting for…
…the launch of an all-new designer color!
But before I unveil this stunning color, I want to share with you the inspiration behind it.
Depending on how long we’ve known each other, you may already know that I’m a world traveler to my core. I love that moment when I arrive at the airport and smell cigarettes and fuel, and get mixed up in the energy and hustle of traveling. It’s the smell of adventure!
Exploring old houses, museums and gorgeous estates always tops the must-see’s for the hubby and I. (Travel tip: Locate these special places whenever you travel, it will enrich your travel experience.)
On one of our trips, we ventured out in the wee hours to explore an old chateau despite having to head back home to Houston in mere hours. As you might imagine, visiting the chateau was incredibly romantic. But beyond that, it was awe-inspiring.
The chateau was particularly fascinating because it was originally built as a hunting lodge. That’s right, people gathered to that gorgeous estate to HUNT – and not to live in year-round. Can you imagine? I’d never want to leave if it were my home.
As we walked through the chateau, I was in childlike wonder at every bit of architecture and decor. Much of the exterior and interior were constructed with a gorgeous stone. Centuries later, and the stone still looked classic and beautiful. The color, the depth, the richness, the patina, the aging – oh la la it was exquisite.
The color of that gorgeous stone was the inspiration behind our newest color….
*drum roll*
…Stone Gray!
As soon as I laid my eyes on it, I knew I had to give you the chance to bring the richness of this gorgeous, aged color into your home. It makes for the perfect neutral without risking being bland or boring.
And of course, I couldn’t wait to try this color out for myself.
This charming little buffet was perfect for my Stone Gray transformation:
To do this designer makeover, I simply followed my easy 3 step Transform System:
First, I painted the buffet with one full generous coat of Amitha Verma Chalk Finish Paint. One coat is all you need!
Next, I applied my sealing product, Protect Clear, to seal this gorgeous painted furniture piece. This is mega important if you want long lasting results.
Last, I applied a thin coat of Enhance Brown all over my buffet to create a bit of the antique look. I didn’t go too heavy on the application on this project.
And after just one hour of painting fun, here’s the incredible result:
