Raise your hand if you’ve been in get-it-done mode?
Meaning get breakfast done, homeschool done, kids’ Zoom calls done, lunch done, my work done, my Zoom calls done, dinner done, bedtime done, and on and on…
The social distancing lifestyle has certainly been like learning a new juggling act.
And one of the downsides, I can’t tell the difference between one day and the next!
Imagine my surprise, when I received a Mother’s Day menu from a local restaurant – I had completely forgotten it was Mother’s Day weekend!
With all that’s going on, it might be hard to celebrate like you’ve done in the previous years.
But, it is important to stop and savor these special moments in between our now, surprisingly, even busier lives!
So what’s the best way to celebrate?
A few days back, several clients reached out on how they felt and it led to this conversation I’m sharing with you in this week’s video.
We have to remember this one tip, and this weekend is a great time to give yourself this gift.
You don’t have to do, do, do.
I too have loved trying new dinner recipes, drink recipes, bike rides, organizing homeschool lessons, taking long walks, pivoting my business, and so forth, but with very little distinction between the days, there never seems to be a firm stopping and starting time.
Teaching my boys how to organize their home-schools schedule
This can be exhausting and overwhelming if you don’t give yourself permission to pause.
Whether you’re working from home, managing home school, or going into work, with the daily uncertainty that surrounds us, we juggle a lot, more so than ever.
So give yourself time to be inspired. Read books you love, watch movies you love, talk on the phone for more than 8 minutes, meditate, whatever you love, and just be.
A little of this in the mix has kept me joyful.
And of course, if that doesn’t work, you can always swing over to Village Antiques for a little retail therapy 😉
You’ve certainly earned it this year.
Leave a comment and let me know if you’ve tried this tip or are planning to. Also, share what you are doing to make Mother’s Day special.
My team and I would love to hear from you.
Wishing you a very Happy Mother’s Day.
With love,
Amitha
